State Schools: parent funded program

For many of our state school partners, we are able to deliver debating at no cost to our partner schools. Interested parents pay for after school classes, and we enter into a room-hire agreement with the school to use its classrooms.

Independent Schools: hybrid funding

Our independent school partners often opt to either fund debating programs directly, or work in a partial funding model with the school contributing some funding and parents covering the balance.

Case study: Lindfield College

Learn about how we worked with Lindfield College to build trust in its academic approach through debating

Partnered with Speakers' Corner (2022)

In 2022, Lindfield College engaged Speakers' Corner Australia to take on its debating program. The program was parent funded, with parents paying for weekly after school debating classes

Building a social debating program (2022-2023)

In our first year at LC, we build up a social debating program, bringing more than 70 students into the school's debating program. Many of these students were trying out debating for the first time. Through our approach, we were able to build a passion amongst the students for debating.

Launching competitive debating (2023)

In 2023, we entered Lindfield students into competitive debating programs. This included the Premiers Debating Challenge, the Sydney Schools Debating Championships and the International Debating Championships.

Leveraging success in parent communications (2023)

Within a year, the Linfield College students won the Premiers' Debating Challenge and reached the semi final of the International Debating Championship. The school was able to successfully draw on this success as proof of its leading educational philosophy.
